The padded seat beside him would be filled but not by her. She would remain in the shadows, fading away slowly.
Tears stained her cheeks. Clear droplets fell down her face and onto her breast, falling to the ground stained blood red, as they carved out her heart.
Memories came flooding back, tearing her to shreds. His touch was still on her, burning up her body but Uther’s word had been spoken.
Fate had condemned them.
The date was set. His wedding, her death.
Arthur shocked, his father had given him no warning, clenched his fists, thinking I’ll die first!
