I needed a white button down shirt, a pair of black pants, and a holiday vest.
Holiday vests are difficult to find this year-- I found a ton of holiday fleece and holiday cardigans, but not very many vests.
So, I went to the mall. (Cue grim music) On a Saturday. In December. I must have been insane. On the good side, I went early.
I looked at Penney's. No luck. I had already hit Kohl's, Meijer, and Wal-mart. I ended up at Elder-Beerman. I'm not sure what that equates to in the rest of the country. I was kind of thinking Dillards. Maybe even a little pricier.
(I was looking at a pair of pants until I realized that the price tag didn't say 20.99. It said 201.99. ON SALE. YOW!)
At any rate, they had some good sales going on, and they do have one area of clothes that aren't made of money. I ended up finding a black vest with snowflakes on it for 19.99 (regularly $50.00) and a pair of slacks I really liked for 14.99 (regularly 40.00). I got a shirt on sale at Meijer.
The fun part? The pants are a size 10. Why, yes, I did say 10. As in, two sizes smaller than the pair of pants I'm replacing. (Cue giant gloaty grin) The vest is in a MEDIUM. I shit you not.
This weight loss stuff is kind of cool. It was incredibly gratifying to pay off some of that work.
