Well, we've got several inches on the ground, and the school district just went from 2 hour delay to closed all day. I'm a little worried, because I had a ton of stuff that needs to get done today, and the roads are pretty lousy.
For one, drop off for the cookie drive is today, and I have five dozen-plus cookies sitting around in my living room. The drop off point is 15-20 minutes away in Area A, though, and I have no idea what the roads will be like. Matt said that it was about 15-20 MPH on the main road to area B, where AFIT is, and there were cars that had slid off the road. There are a couple of different routes I can take to Area A, but if the main road is that bad, I'm not sure how the not-as-main roads will be. It could be better (less traffic) or worse (less plowing/salting). The drop off stops at 11:00, so I'm going to wait for the time being.
Also, if we have bells and choir tonight, I have copies I need to make and music I need to mark. I got everything assigned last night, but I need to organize the folders. *sigh* I'm wondering if we'll have practice, though, since the roads will likely refreeze tonight. Then again, it's not supposed to get above 30 all day, so who knows?
I went to my first rehearsal of the OWC singing group yesterday. I talked to them last week and I was pleasantly surprised that they would let me join them for their last two Christmas performances. It's not technically difficult music, but that wasn't really the point. I'm really trying to branch out and make some friends, since so many people in my circle are moving next year. I'm working to schedule a meeting with the director of the local inter-parish music group to audition for their spring season. That should be more technically difficult music, but again that's not the point entirely.
I'm making the kids wait at least another half hour before I let them go outside and play so they don't wake anyone up. I suppose I'll let them out front and start shoveling.
