Briefly....

Well, let's see. We did throw our customary dessert-tasting birthday party. As usual, I made WAAAAAAAY too much food. Luckily, I was able to send most of it in with Matt and fatten up the grad students.

Ian's school apparently doesn't do halloween, which I find odd since Sean's school (also run by the school district) does. Ian is supposed to dress up like a storybook character. Thank goodness for my mom's box of little NASCAR books, because I can legitimately put him in the costume he wanted. Sean wanted to be a pumpkin. Apparently, they don't make pumpkin costumes for bigger kids. Thus, he's wearing an orange shirt with a fabric painted face and orange pants. *sigh* If I had a little more skill and energy, I would make him a more elaborate one, but, well...I don't.

Both of the boys are doing well in school. Ian should be getting a 1st quarter report card sometime soon (next week?) We have a conference with Sean's teachers on Halloween.

Grumpy note: the powers that be on base have decided that we should all trick-or-treat on 10/30, and not on halloween. 'Splain that one to me. I would understand it if it moved trick-or-treating to a weekend, but what the heck? Why is Tuesday better than Wednesday? I really didn't care until I realized that the one cake decorating class I've been dying to take all fall is on the 30th! ARGH.

At least it's supposed to really cool off soon. I want to wear my new jeans! And my new boots. Man, I love me some new boots. I feel tall. And confident. :)

P.S. As of today, I'm down 24.8 pounds. Damn .2 pounds!
