Hooray for orders! I'm beginning to believe we might actually make it to Ohio. If Matt ever gets around to calling TMO, that is. I'm about ready to pull out my power of attorney and steal a copy of those orders. *hrumph*
Ian's evaluation went well. It was nice to see all the progress he's made-- but difficult to watch them point out all the places he struggles. We have a meeting on the 23rd to get results. It takes a while, but the advantage of waiting is having a final report ready to go when you walk out the door. I'm not expecting any major surprises, so I'm less nervous than I thought I'd be. We'll see what happens next week as it gets closer.
I haven't been posting much because there's just not much to post ABOUT. There's been drama, especially with Ian's latest parent teacher conference, but I've been too tired to rehash it. I'm so glad it's getting sunnier and warmer, though.
We took advantage of it last night. I marinated some chicken and we grilled Greek kabobs. Chopped up the grilled veggies a little, lightly grilled the pita pockets, and we all chowed down. Even the kids were into it.
I try to expose the kids to more vegetables than I got when I was a kid. My parents very rarely made things with bell peppers, for instance. My dad is a less than adventurous eater.
Sort of liking the idea of being in Ohio for farmer's market season. Not so much liking the idea of going back to humid summers, though. Oh, well. It was going to happen sometime.
I've started to think a little about what I will miss about ABQ. A lot of it is the friends I've made. The mountain. It sure makes it easier for my directionally challenged self. Some of it is just as simple as knowing my way around town. I'm not really looking forward to having to learn where everything is again.
Then again, there will be grass. Squirrels. Who'd have thought I would miss squirrels? Two bigger cities within an hour or so to play in. Friends closer.
But really, who ever thought to miss squirrels?
