Ring Ring, Beep Beep. Uhuh!
Christmas! Hehe. I love it when we stay down here for Christmas, and I'd forgotten how much I simply love the company of my Dad's side of the family. I also love the CLUES! In true, Eames tradition, Christmas presents that are opened in the evening always have clues on them, so you have to decipher the clue before you are allowed to open them. I saved a couple of my favourites that I thought to beauteous to throw away.
ODE TO A ROBE
Old Jacob's gift, his pride & joy,
was torn from the back of his favourite boy,
Flung to the beasts in the desert waste;
But Joseph smiles, as if to say:
"It really wasn't quite my taste -
I didn't like it anyway.
My preference would have been for grey."
And off to Egypt went his way.
from my Granny to my Father on a grey bath-robe. Not the most cryptic, but ever so lovely, imo. hehe.
By letters ad, the skilful designer,
of pigment extrusion by fine-pointed liner
of waterproof ink.
Theres no tip, I think,
Invented for drawing could ever be finer.
8D from Granny to me on an amazing Staedtler ("by letters ad") set of fineliners and mechanical pencils.
Santa riding on his sledge
Was short of ideas, let's not hedge.
To choose your present he did pledge,
But then he failed, so here's some wedge.
Haha. Yes, these are all less cryptic and more rhymey - because the cryptic ones I didn't keep really, which is shameful. Dx Either way - guess what this one was ;D hehe. Monies. ^^
