example:
i was reading bbc news online just now, about the drug raids on some of the austrian athletes at the olympics. apparently the raid "came after the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) raised suspicions about the Austrians with the International Olympic Committee (IOC)." not really amusing to me. until i learned the following: "Wada chief Dick Pound said officials seeking to test biathletes in Austria instead found blood-doping equipment connected to banned coach Walter Mayer."

good lord. sometimes i don't understand why people don't go by "Richard" or really, anything else. maybe his actual name is just plain "dick" and not short for anything, in which case, wicked sorry to hear it, dude.
