(no subject)
Well- it is already August. Crazy! I still have a while until school starts, but I feel like I haven't got much time left to make this summer worth remembering. On the other hand, I am content with the uneventful life I lead. Which is annoying, because I am little bit bored with all of this. Anyway- I am looking forward to going back to school because I'll actually have a good idea of what I'm doing this year... I am no longer a first year teacher and that is pretty exciting. It will be nice not to have to start from scratch this year.
Our week up on Mackinac was probably the best ever. I actually didn't want to leave when it got to Saturday morning. The past couple of years I've been so worn out with all of the pettiness that comes along with high school girls... but that didn't happen this year.
I am playing the organ in church on Sunday. Well, just the prelude. I took a few lessons from the organist at my church and it is pretty fun. The pedals are hard though... because I am short after all and sometimes I slide off the bench trying to reach them.... so I have to have a different way of balancing myself then I have when I play the piano. But its been quite the experience; the main goal was learning how all of the stuff works like the stops and the way to program different stop combinations and such.
And that is all I have to report at the moment. I was planning on moving to a duplex in Constantine but decided not to and I'm very glad of that because the last thing that I want to do right now is move again. I was pretty excited about being able to have a dog, but I guess I'll just have to wait on that. Oh well.
