happy wednesday. does anyone still play livejournal anymore?
all's well here. doing the daily grind thing with work and school, which keeps me busy and (most times) content. taking a pottery class.i think today i'll sign up for kickboxing because it's fun to do. i've been rock climbing a fair amount with my roommate hubie. i think this is the first time in my life i've been even mildly enthusiastic about physical activity. i look forward to becoming strong enough to do some of the cool stuff i've seen people accomplish at the rock wall at the gym.
i got a $100 bonus at work this month for having the most sales of all the wait staff. i'm using it to pay parking tickets and my power bill. too bad there's not some more fun use for it.
i turn 21 in five days. since i'm not a big drinker, i didn't think i would be excited about this, but i really am. it will be nice to be able to get into bars without stealthy maneuvers when i decide to go out with my friends and generally be one step closer to being treated like i'm competent enough to make decisions for myself.
i'm really proud of myself. my parents send me enough money to pretty much cover my rent each semester, and last year they paid my bills, too. all i was responsible for was groceries, internet, and my own recreation. this semester, i've been paying all of my own bills except for car insurance and my cell phone, and i haven't fallen behind or felt like i was drowning in debts. it's the most independent i've ever been, and, though sometimes it's a little hard, i've really made it work. for that, i reward myself by tooting my own horn on my blog.
