Jesse's Girl II

Dec 19, 2005 05:30

Someone exotic, exciting and well traveled -- just your style -- is about to cross your path. Before you run off to boldly go where no couple has gone before, be sure they at least show symptoms of personality traits you're really after

Yup, that's Jesse. Exotic - a younger man, with, if not a completely honed sensual style, then at the very least an eagerness to please. Exciting - he's younger isn't he? Well Traveled - five years in Asia ought to do it.

Personality traits - Moody, numb, tendencies towards alcoholism, abrupt, tries to appear aloof and unconcerned. He will discuss more intimate feelings and moments on MSN than in a telephone conversation.

When not moody, he is playful and sexual, and well - that appears to be rare - more often on msn than in the face-to-face meetings we have had so far.

There are as many reasons for this, as there are against this - probably more against this. So why am I still considering this?

Because its creeping up on two years since I have been with anyone, and I know from experience that two years can become five years without batting an eye. The longer I go without a relationship, (companionship or intimacy) the longer that stretch can become. I get used to going without, and I am not interested in ringing in 2009 and realizing it's been five years again.

Because my birthday just passed and 2006 is right around the corner, and beyond offers of casual sex, I have not found anyone that seems to fit the profile - that isn't currently seeing anyone else. And I don't want to interfere in those fledgling relationships - there are enough obstacles there for them, without me adding to the confusion.

So that's basically it. Loneliness and desperation. Although to be fair - when he isn't being moody, when he is being animated and talkative, he is pretty sweet and endearing. Why dismiss this before it goes anywhere, why not see what it is and accept it for what it is?

And his proposal was a short-term, semi-serious relationship, with benefits. Might as well explore those benefits before dismissing the possibility, right?
