The first night she lay in her own bed after the funeral, Buffy listened to the silence. Even with Dawn down the hall, the house felt cavernously empty. Unable to take the absence any longer, she rose out of bed.
This is so sad. I really felt for Buffy, listening to her mother's footsteps and seeing in her mind's eye, her mother's routine of checking the house and her girls.
Meeting her double and finding out that she doesn't know anything about magic or slaying made Buffy a little wistful, I think. How different her life could have turned out. I'm wondering if Buffy would like to have had that chance.
