Lovely. Nicely sympathetic treatment of Angel, and you capture that amulet-giving scene really well. When JM did that crestfallen-but-trying-to-be-brave expression, I wanted to cry for him, and your take on it captured that beautifully.
*melts* I love a good treatment of Angel... He's defintiely not my flavor, but he's so important for Buffy that bashing him nearly always rings false to me. This is very elegantly done, sympathetic without stretching characters.
Thanks very much, and I agree! Thing is, I have a bit of an Angel in my past - not in terms of personality, but the kind of First Love dramadrama thing. And that relationship really mattered to me, made me crazy, all that. Then I grew up and got over it, but I can still think about it fondly. So that's what Buffy/Angel is for me.
Ahhh, now that's better! Almost exactly the scene as it played, but with much needed improvements.
I have often wondered about Angel's curse possibly being ineffective now that he knows about it. How could happiness be perfect if he was aware of the risk? So it's good to see you mention it too.
I'm really curious what Spike and Angel will say to each other about her in A:S5! And am excited to look up your other fics now that I'm less likely to be spoiled.
