Thou Art Too Bright

O glorious sun in thy heavenly skies
  gaze not upon me today.
Mine eyes are weak; my soul is weary
Let me rest if I may.

O holy sun, I worship thee
but today please let me be.
  I'll move among the shadows
  where mine eyes doth see.

O beautiul sun, tomorrow will come
and bring joy back into my life.
'Twas the glow of the sickly moon
which caused me a sleepless night.

O joyous sun, I remember the warmth
  thy beams doth always provide.
I seek the comfort thou easily give
but today I must stay inside.

O wondrous sun, mistake not my words-
  I mean thee no offense.
Being away from thy sacred rays
  hast been enough punishment.

O radiant sun, begrudge me not-
I long to be in thy sight.
After the darkness I must endure,
I know I will see daylight.
