Dear Thyroid,
Thank you for all the wonderful things you've done for me these past 28 years. I'm so sorry to see you have to go today because of that stupid C-word. I really appreciate how healthy you've kept me, and hope that your buddy hormone replacement friends will do just as good a job once you're gone. You will always be remembered and missed (especially when I look at my smiley shaped scar in the mirror and get my prescription bill). A fond farewell to my beloved endocrine gland.
