World Fantasy

I will be at World Fantasy in San Diego on Saturday and maybe Friday, depending on how much progress I make today on writing a 10-page paper, polishing a different 10-page paper, and doing a stack of reading. I have no membership, so will be lurking in bars and lounges. Anyone want to meet up?

Yikes-- good luck with the reading & papers! (Now just figuring out childcare for the 2 year old doesn't seem so difficult in comparison...) I'll be attending Fri & Sat, so will keep an eye out for you.

The Trellis

I hear the Trellis is the bar of choice (when not closed for private functions like earlier today). It's supposed to stay open until 2a.m. Some people may be using Charley's, but it closes at midnight. I haven't heard anyone using Kelly's, and its bar area looks rather small. So The Trellis is your best bet.

Tweeters are using the #wfc2011 hashtag, so up-to-date bar conditions are likely to show up there. At the moment I think many people are either in the Autograph sesssion (8-11pm) or the Tor room party in 1110 or thereabouts, but migration towards the bar seems very likely.

Amusingly, The SFWA business meeting is 8am in the Sunshine Deli. 8am on a Saturday at a con!!
