A User's Guide to PTSD, Part IV: Postscript

Two years ago I wrote a set of posts called “A User’s Guide to PTSD.” They attracted a lot of attention, and several people friended this LJ in the hope that I would write more in the same vein. I pointed out that I write about mental illness approximately once every two years, so it could be a long wait. If any of them are still reading, I hope ( Read more... )

Thank you. That's an awesome summary, and I'm still (still) looking forward to reading the first three posts. They're bookmarked and waiting for me to feel ready.

You are one of the people who reminds me that it really is possible to do something to help. It doesn't require being a Heroic Type, or perfect, or even having one's own life entirely together. You do what you can, when you can, and you share what you've learned. So thank you. :)

The only qualification necessary to help is the desire to do so. You do things I wouldn't and don't, by the way. But that's good! We've all got the niches we feel comfortable with. Apparently mine are crises and kids.

ETA: Of the other posts, Part II is the one that's the most intense. Just so you know.
