It's Christmas Time... in Rachel's room
Yup, so I did it... I went to Big Lots and bought myself a Christmas tree. I knew that if I left it up to my dad, we'd never get one, so I got it myself, and now it's sitting in my room, lights glittering red and green. I haven't put the ornaments on yet, but I'll get to that. Ah, I love Christmas time. There's just something so special about it... the cold weather, the lights, the decorations, all the stuff going on at church (:D), and of course there was that thing about Jesus being born ;) Yup, Christmas is definitely my favorite time of year, and I have to admit, I'm glad I get to be experiencing it at Aldersgate again this year, though someday I hope I'll know what Christmas in Kentucky is like.
I'm doing my very best to get to Asbury in January, but who knows what's going to happen. I still feel God leading me there, and I really want to go. I think I need to get away from home to discover my independence... I just feel like I'm not going to be able to find it here, especially not at my mom's or dad's. As hard as it is to leave a church I've been a part of for seven and a half years, I feel like I really need to do this. Unfortunately, it's not an easy thing to just pack up and go to college, especially since Asbury costs $25,000 a year. Anyway, I've heard it said, "Do your best and God will do the rest," so that's what I'm doing. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it all turns out...
P.S. I will be 19 in one month!!
