bizarro kid saying of the week

Today in class we were sounding out words. First trick. I said something along the lines of "You know, a trick, like you can play a trick on someone, or a joke."

Then I changed the word to brick. They sounded it out and then one of my little girls said, "You know, like when you pick up a brick and hit someone in the face with it."

.....um. no.

I quickly diverted to bricks being something you could build houses with, but honestly. I fear for some of these children and their home lives.
