There have been so many times in the last few weeks I have thought to write in here and I've never been motivated enough to do it so this will be really fragmented but here it goes:

Birthday: Thanks for all the notes and stuff! I ended up just watching "Notes on a Scandal" (excellent movie) and ordering a gyros pizza (a Northfield original!) after a really crazy day of running around school. Yesterday I had a little more fun and went up to the Mall of America and found shoes and a cardigan for my graduation dress and found the perfect little black dress for the senior ball/prom/party.

Future: The future sucks. I won't hear about the Yale waitlist for another few weeks, I'm impatient, and I absolutle dread hearing that I didn't get in. It is so competitive and I am just so pessimistic at this point. I really couldn't start a real job until August because of the PCC tour I'm chaperoneing and so it dosen't really make sense to send out resumes but I am so scared I won't end up getting a job in arts administration and I'll end up working retail and not being able to get out.

School: School is fine. Music of India is amazing and my professor is great. Europe in the 20th Century should be a lot more interesting than it is but I haven't taken a course this lecture intensive my entire time here (I imagine this is what big school courses are like) and the prof is a little too old to be doing this anymore. He is very quirky. We've basically surmissed he was born shortly before WWII in Germany and grew up there although he hardly references his childhood I really want to know what this was like for him. He's lived in the US since the early 1960s though (he went to school here) and has been teaching at Carleton since 1966. He also wears a cravat every day which is definitly one step quirkier than the music theory prof who wears bow ties.

Choir: We're leaving Friday for what I am pretty sure will be a weekend of hell. We are driving down to New Orleans (~20 hours,) singing 4 concerts in 48 hours, and driving back. I'm trying to prepare the trip to be as pleasant as possible. As choir manager, part of my job is to prepare the tour info packet with the itinerary and lists of area resturants and stuff and although we have almost no free time at all, there are some pretty cool looking late night/24 hour places I've found and since we have so much time to sleep on the bus, I think there will be very little sleeping in the hotel. Unfortunately, I also have 2 midterms Friday so I have no time to do all the stuff I need to do but thats ok.

The Riches: Best new show on television. Maybe not critically, but anytime you have Eddie Izzard trying to stay in an American accent playing opposite Minnie Driver as the heads of a family of travlers (American gypsies,) it must be amazing. FX Monday nights. Watch it.
