Tim (my boyfriend) came to visit from Belgium this weekend. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Here is a funny thing that happened:
We were on the red line train going north, and we were planning to get off at Lake and switch to the brown line. We weren't paying attention and we missed Lake. So we got off at Grand, but then I decided that it would be easier to get back on the red line and go up to Fullerton, and then get on the brown line from there going the other direction. So we got back on the same train we had just exited, but in a different car. We rode it several stops, and then just before we got to Fullerton, Tim realized he didn't have his camera anymore. He had just bought the camera two days before and he was sure he brought it with him on the train. So we went through the doors between the cars to get to the car we had been in previously (Tim was not very keen on this idea since the doors very clearly state that they are for emergency use only, but as everyone in Chicago knows, people use them all the time). As soon as we got there, a girl said, "Are you guys here for the camera?" I cannot believe how lucky we were. Tim was very impressed by how nice the girl was and now has a very good impression of Americans.
Anyway, in case anyone is curious,
here are some pictures from his visit, all taken with the almost-lost camera.
