HOW I SPENT MY SPRING VACATION:
Rollin' rollin' rollin'...we (Tammy, Evan and I) barely even made it home due to some type of malfunction in Tammy's car. However, at about 10pm on Friday night we walked up the front steps of my Kirkland home safe and sound. Thank God. Don't know what might've happened if I'd been stranded in Pullman.
On Saturday I made a special trip out to Bellevue to get my hair cut for the first time in well over a year. I'm very happy with it. It was getting much too long and I like having it super short, even though Miranda and Heather don't. Afterward I walked on over to MJ Feet and partook in some chit chat with Melinda. I don't remember exactly what we talked about but it sure was nice to see her again.
Later that weekend (Sunday night to be exact) I enjoyed appetizers and drinks with Erin and Bethany in a little-known local brew-pub called T.G.I.Fridays. Ever heard of it? Didn't think so, but neither had I! What can I say except to declare T.G.I.Fridays a local gem of a restaurant?!
God, I'm being obnoxious. Alright, now for the good stuff!! Monday morning I packed myself up, hopped on a couple of buses and was on my way to Vancouver, BC! *cue Canadian national anthem* I was met by Jared with icy indifference and a surly attitude. Only teasing. I was met with anything but. Anyway, we started gabbing straight off and, with a bit of difficulty due to my heavy luggage, made it to his place. His apartment looked totally amazing all covered with string and love notes and balloons and yet more love notes. It really was very special.
During the week we enjoyed dining out, dining in, Granville Island and houseboats, The Cat's Meow, a healthy amount of rain, numerous episodes of "Made in Canada", "The Simpsons", "Strangers With Candy" and "King of the Hill", live music and an excellent movie. It was a really awesome visit and I hope I get the chance to visit again soon.
The bus ride home was sooo funny. It was one of those moments when you really wish you were with a friend just so you could have someone to turn to and chuckle with. A gaggle of geeks were sitting all around me, each wearing different types of hats (one guy had a skull bandana, one woman was wearing a hat like something out of "My Fair Lady" when they're at the racetrack, one man a sombrero...it goes on). For about 45 minutes (it's true, i clocked it), they discussed how totally awesome it would be if there was a Star Trek musical. How the borg could do some gregorian chanting, there would be klingon opera, etc. Eventually they concluded that "Deep Space 9" would make the best musical while both "The Next Generation" and "Voyager" would make the worst. Quality eavesdropping.
Anywho, I think Seinfeld is on so I'm gonna watch. I wish you all limitless undying love which shines around you like a million suns!
