Millay

I've been indulging myself today, re-reading some of Edna St. Vincent Millay's poems. I love that woman's verse.

Her poetry makes me mourn and celebrate the life I have, mourn and celebrate the life I don't.

I don't believe that I've read anything of hers since school. What is one of your favourite of her poems?

The ones I kept coming back to yesterday:

Witch-Wife (http://www.bartleby.com/131/15.html)
First Fig (http://www.hycyber.com/VERSE/first_fig.html)
The Penitent (http://www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/108.html)

I'm enjoying reading some of her sonnets. From what I've read, she was an interesting woman who chose in large part to live outside the herd.

Ha! When I first read this, I saw "Hard living has its perks..."

But regarding the sentence you actually wrote, I agree.

Yeah, I looked her up on Wikipedia last night and she seemed to be quite a unique lady.
