When last we left our intrepid heroine...
To bring up to speed folks I don't talk to outside of LJ-land, I am in the process of buying a coffee shop/cafe. This is a pragmatic, slight, alteration of course from my original plan to start one from scratch. I found a cafe I want to buy and have an agreement with the owner to buy it (with a few contingencies thrown in to protect myself).
I have the bulk of the funding I need and am in the process of raising the remaining portion. I put a listing up on Prosper.com toward that end (tip of the hat to Sean, from whom I learned of the site's existence) and was (am) quite pleased to see it get fully funded in the space of a few hours. I'm hoping that the interest rate will get bid down in the remaining five days before the listing ends. I'm posting about in the hope/on the chance you or someone you know might want to loan me money at an interest rate more favorable than 8.7% (Prosper is a peer-to-peer lending site--sort of like an eBay for loans. I'm still learning the ins and outs, but I believe if person agrees to loan a portion of the amount I am seeking at a lower interest rate, it can lower the overall interest rate).
