FYI, the Iowa Supreme Court is announcing their decision in the case of Varnum vs. Brien, which if you're not familiar with it is the ruling that may or may not allow same sex marriage in Iowa.
The case involves six same-sex Iowa couples who sued Polk County Recorder Timothy Brien in 2005 after his office denied them marriage licenses. Polk County District Judge Robert Hanson sided with the couples last year but then suspended his decision pending a high court ruling. (From the Des Moines Register).
The ruling should be announced at 8:30 am CDT. Two of my friends are plaintiffs in the case.
