so due to hurricane hanna... my freaking basement got flooded. it was HORRIBLE. i think my family has bad luck/karma with flooding basements. it's the fourth time this has happened since we moved into this house. we also had another bad experience at our previous dwelling.
it was worse because i'm still recovering from my "severe indigestion" and i started bleeding this morning (hah! i was right!) so i am weak, tired and the water was pretty cold. i'm just glad the water never rose any higher than about half an inch. most of the time, it was about a quarter inch or less.
so i spent many hours sweeping (mopping?) water out of the basement.
unfortunate for the person that RENTS out our basement =.=;;; i'm sure she was pretty angry and frustrated. but at least the ground is now dry, and she can sort out her stuff later.
and now if i'm not careful, i'm definitely going to get sick. i knew my health issues were because my body was getting ready to bleed. at least i get one more day where i don't have to do anything.
and i thank God for the fact that it stopped raining late afternoon.
but i just find it so odd that it flooded. i mean, its not like we haven't had heavy rainfall earlier this year. but why now? my dad thought that a pipe broke, and i was like, well, the water doesn't smell and it's actually pretty clean. so i told him that it was rainwater. so he went into our backyard area and started shoveling dirt around so that our yard had an outlet for the water that was building up. the only problem after that was we couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
but it's over. and ike is going to head over to the gulf of mexico, not here in the northeast (i'm positive). apparently there's a "josephine" (or so my parents say in their korean accent) but i'm sure it's also going to head in that direction as well. i like the idea of heavy rain because then i'll get me out of work ^^;; but not to the point where i have shovel water out of my house.
now i'm going to go play pokemon until i get sleepy enough to sleep.
weather,
bleeding,
