I have read FIFTY pages of a real, live, grown up book. When Lilah and I were surviving without Ben a couple of weeks ago, I packed her up and took her to Barnes and Noble, from where I had a gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket. In addition to a craft magazine, I picked out two books - one from the clearance section and one from the trade paperback section (those short, thick paperbacks). The book I got was "Stolen Innocence", the story of one girl's "escape" from her FLDS polygamous sect.
So far it's pretty "blah," but I'm just so excited to read a real book. It may take me half the year to read it, but I'm going to read it and feel somewhat normal again...because normal me reads.
