Weird -
So, I was flipping channels this morning and stopped at MTV because the episode they were showing of "Once Upon a Prom" was filmed at a high school where I did some student teaching - Hillcrest High School.
It was interesting to see one of the girls who I had seen around in my program be the teacher who lined up the students to be announced, and then the teacher I did my practicum under there - who is a bitch and a backstabber, FYI - was announcing the couples as they came in. She has a weird lispy thing, so it's not hard to pick her voice out. Also, that backstabbing thing tends to sear a voice into your brain until the end of time.
Anyway, they rode around on the Bama Belle for some "fancy pants" dinner cruise (serving chicken fingers!) and then off to the prom!
The whole gist of the show revolved around this kid who had moved to Tuscaloosa his senior year and entered this contest to take Taylor Swift (whoever that is - I gathered she is a singer of some sort) to the prom. The girl seemed really nice and not too disgusted to be at a prom in Tuscaloosa, AL.
I'm amused by how often MTV shows up in Alabama after the successful run of the Hoover High Football show...
