Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
This is my first time in *years* NOT having to work retail and its been fantastic ;) I didn't have to be up at 4am yesterday to be at work at 5am to do 50 pages of price points. I will not have to leave for work an hour before a shift so that I can spend 45 minutes driving around the parking lot looking for a place to park. I will not have to be yelled at by nasty customers who think that they are the only people in the world out shopping and should not be inconvenienced by having to wait to try things on or wait in a long ass line to pay. I won't get yelled at by the snotty customer who wants to make a return and can't seem to understand why, even though I've explained it 5 times, that she can't have cash because she didn't pay for the purchase with cash. I don't care if you paid the damn bill already, your receipt says you paid with credit so the return goes back on the card. You only get cash if you made the original purchase with cash! Oy! Yes, this is going to be a great holiday season :)
I put up my tree yesterday (sans any type of ornamentation due to this being Nympahdora's first holiday). So far it hasn't been knocked over, but she has tried eating the faux branches. My village will be staying safely packed away - way to many hours spent painting those houses to have them broken by Destructo!Kitty. Hermione is pretty good about the tree these days so i'm not to worried about her this year.
Went and saw RENT yesterday. Amazing. I've had the soundtrack for years and every time its been in Chicago I haven't been able to go see it. So to see almost the entire original broadway cast on the big screen...Fantastic! Is it out on DVD yet?
Plan to go see Pride and Prejudice today. Obviously nothing will be as good as the 1996 version *drools* but I've heard good things about this current adaption.
Went and saw GOF last Sunday with Leanna and Rachelle. Loved, loved, loved it. Everyone on my flist has already talked about the film and I really don't have much to add. I thought they did an excellent job getting the main story of the book told. With the size of the books to come the adaptions are going to be harder and you can't please everyone and you can't put the entire book in the movie. So I give kudos to the writers who I think did a fantastic job.
Well it looks like being pampered by 'not really Chicago winters' the last few years means we're going to be treated to a *real* Chicago winter this year. It's snowed 3 times already this week and the wind chills were pretty steady in the single digits. Warming up a little today - we're already in the 30's with not much wind. Good day to go out - last night's now has already mostly melted.
