The tide...is finally changing..
I have to say..I never thought that this day was going to come. The day before the day I start my internship!! That's right, tommorow, I, Rachael Ann Chemerinsky will be an official Intern at the Merchandise Mart in Downtown Chicago!! The Merchandise Mart..the mecca in Chicago for ALL of the Interior Design industry. THIS IS HUGE!! I couldn't be more pysched. I'm just beside myself.
It all happened so fast too...I put in my resume two weeks ago Friday, got a phone call on Wednesday, and poof! given the position on Friday!!! It's almost surreal...but feels so fucking good. I can't help but say that lately I've felt as if I've been rewarded for going through such a yucky patch of life. I feel as if things are finally slipping into place (minus the guy issue), and I feel that I'm actually in the right direction in my life...I'm getting there..and now I have this amazing oppurtunity to push me even further.
In other news, classe are going really well...I'm loving them and it seems that from the grades I'm getting I'm doin' really well...plus, I have barely missed any classes..which is just great..things just seem to good.
Work is stressful as usual..and doesn't look like it's gonna get any better any time soon. This weekend we had NA in house..yeah, that's Narcotics Anonymous...so basically a bunch of crack pheens that were obsessed with the idea of having a coffee buzz. Let me tell you..I'm not the type of person who gets upset by stupid things..but I almost got in a fight with like 3 people...not even joking..these idiots were CRACKED OUT!! Seriously scary. Of course, managment didn't expect that this weekend was going to be so busy..we knew that it was gonna have a lot of people..but we didn't know that we were going to have record sales.
It's this coming week that we've been worried about. It's the WLS Managers conference..plus our DM, RM and CEO will be in house for Starbucks..yeah, talk a bout pressure. Lucky me gets to be there on Thursday for the overview (it's Harrington's SB), and then all freakin' weekend...hey, at least it'll be good money..and tips lately have been pretty good. It's just gonna be a very very very busy week ahead.
Oh yeah, only 13 days until I turn 24...I can hardly believe it. I'm gettin' old...but hell, I'm having a blast..
