Sleep Study Schedueled

So I was able to schedule my sleep study for the 19th of June.  Figured that a Friday night would be best in case I'm worthless the next morning.  Talked to the lady at the center and gave her all of my insurance info.  All she needs from my doc are some notes on the file on why she thinks I have obstructive apnea.  We're working on the thyroid issues, but I'm still exhausted.  I wake up tired and often with a headache (which I thought was from clenching or grinding my teeth), don't get restful sleep, and just am not functioning to my full capacity right now.

Doc is thinking that my tonsils, which are unusally large from all the scar tissue I've accumulated through the years of strep throat/tonsilitis are contributing to apnea issues.  Hubby mentioned to her the other day when he went with me to my thyroid ultrasound follow-up that there are times when there's a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally long pause between breaths; enough that it concerns him and he'll nudge me to make me take a breath.  She thinks the tonsils may be part of the issue.

One positive thing she mentioned is that if we can get my sleep figured out, that should automatically help with the weight loss - the stress hormones will be reduced, I'll have more energy, will be able to work out more, burn fuel more efficiently, etc.  So, something to look forward to!

Funny sleepy story from this morning:  Maisy woke me up at 4 to go out to tinkle, went back to bed, had horrible dreams until 6...got up, got ready for work, grabbed car keys from the counter and went out into the garage.  Stuck the key in the ignition of the MSP and it wouldn't turn...wth?  Pull the keys out and turns out I grabbed my hubby's keys from the counter instead of mine...oy!
