So, went for the six week follow up to the doc yesterday. She changed some of the supplements and added a different med that I need to take short term. She said my thyroid still felt enlarged and wants to see me the end of April instead of in June. They'll do another ultrasound then and if it's still big and the nodule is still there, then I have to go to the endocrinologist to get a biopsy done. : / I'm hoping that maybe the iodine just hasn't had enough time to work on the thyroid to get it smaller. She is (and I am) happy with the progress I have made with going gluten free/casein free. She said to be patient - that six weeks is just the beginning and that it takes time to clear all the stuff out of my system, get the cortisol/stress hormones settled down and my immune system built back up. Pssht, patience. Always thought it was a sucky virtue. That I'm even seeing movement on the scale (even if it's bouncing a bit) is amazing. I've not been able to get it to budge in quite some time. I guess I need to just stick to the GF/CF eating, do my walking/jogging and really try to keep up with the yoga/qigong stuff.
Then had the fabulous surprise of having to pay $331.00 to even out the account from the estimated payment of my portion of the tests (a lot) that I had paid and what the insurance company paid. I swear health insurance is such a racket.
