1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
scuba diving! went to a conference, met some nobel peace prize winners, passed a crazy hard math class

I don't think I made any

Germany, Honduras
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
more traveling. and a degree.

June 7, maybe, the day we left for Honduras
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
scuba diving, being sent to the AASHE conference, and making the dean's list this semester
9. What was your biggest failure?
in a way, also scuba diving. I didn't do as well as I might've liked in the two weeks I was there, I wish I had gotten more comfortable

some colds

I ate some really good food this year, let me tell you

almost entirely food

going to Honduras, friends coming back to LA for visits, Peace Jam

I read so many good books this year! Maybe Middlesex. I loved Twilight but for different reasons than it being a well written novel haha. Also Lullaby was good, but so sad. And The Amber Spyglass was a great ending to the His Dark Materials trilogy. And Madame Bovary was wonderful, too.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I'm always the last to know with music, but recently I've grown really attached to Cold War Kids

good grades

more time to get things done with my club at school

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
on the day of my birthday I went to school, and then studied for my physics test. a few days later I went to dinner with some friends, it was really nice. I was 23.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
time going slower!

sweatpants, everyday, thats how I've been doing it since 2000 haha

having goals, wanting to do something bigger than myself

Kanye. love of my life.

prop 8, anything environmental

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008?
Life is about so much more than the little things in our everyday lives that we put so much importance on. We think that petty fights with people we barely know, or romantic involvements with someone we think we know, or the things that we have, are what make our lives. Life is about doing things outside of yourself, seeing the bigger picture, and trying to be a positive influence for the rest of the world in some form or another.
