Children of Invention...

A neat sounding indie film, Children of Invention is starting to make rounds. It's about a Chinese American family trying to make it. Their single mother gets caught up in a pyramid scheme and her two kids have to make it on their own. The two kids, Michael Chen (small acting parts and dance on his resume) and Crystal Chiu have been getting good reviews.

The link has a great interview with the director which goes a bit into indie film making and the roles of Asian Americans in American film.

The part about Asians in film is towards the end and he actually does mention Avatar
