Independent Film Watch: The People I've Slept With

Aug 08, 2010 22:52

I hope that people are planning to support this movie. It opens 8/13 in New York, 8/27 in Los Angeles, 9/03 in the SF Bay Area. It was written by Koji Steven Sakai.

"Thankfully updating the typically bland Hollywood rom-com with some refreshing openness towards female sexuality and a multi-racial line up, the film also boasts a radiant lead duo in Karin Anna Cheung and Archie Kao, who bring a star power and screen presence that not only match, but overshadow, the casts of any current Hollywood romance."

"The People I've Slept With is a sexy romantic story about a promiscuous young woman (Karin Anna Cheung of Better Luck Tomorrow) who unexpectedly gets pregnant and must find out the identity of the father… now! Together with her gay best friend and co-worker (Wilson Cruz of He’s Just Not That Into You, My So-called Life), the two go on the hunt through her past hook-ups and dates to find the baby’s daddy. The film co-stars Archie Kao (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Lynn Chen (Lakeview Terrace, Saving Face) and screen legend James Shigeta (Flower Drum Song, The Crimson Kimono)."

Note - the trailer is not work safe due to sexual content.

(The reason I'm posting this is that we can make a positive impact by supporting movies which feature Asians as lead characters.)
