Wow that book looks gorgeous, (I really hope I get that job at borders so I can buy it on employee discount). I really hope Bryke hide some subtle feelings about the movie, if they were able to get away with Sokka's 'ready for lovemaking' scene, they should be able to give us something of their true feelings.

I'm actually eager to read MNight's forward, I wonder if he'll hypocritically gush about the series, or conceitedly talk about the things he 'improved'.

Yeah, so glad my sister pre-ordered it when the price dipped!

As for the forward, honestly I just really didn't want any sign of or reference to the live action movie to be in the book, period ;_;.

'Improved'? I think we can all agree that you can't 'improve' Avatar: the last airbender series into a two hour flim. And now we totally know it's not possible...

You think Sokka waiting for Suki was something? In the Fortuneteller episode, I heard the girl who liked Aang call Katara a floozy at the end when the Gaang was about to leave.

hee hee I already mentioned that one. I would buy it just for the Lol value. But if I wait a few months I'll pick one up in the dollar store.

I wasn't going to buy it (cheap college kid and all) but the art truly is beautiful! Plus, no matter how many times I click the "surprise me!" button on amazon, I haven't seen the Zhao picture rufftoon mentioned (and I need to see Zhao without his Zhaoburns!).

I think this is something to look forward to, actually. I mean, and art book!? Yays! It describes the origin of ideas and everything. How nice.

It's a plus, in spite of the movie.

What's the forward about?

Agreed. Something to look forward to, and definitely a plus :)

The forward wasn't included in the Amazon glimpses, but I'm assuming it's Shyamalan's promise to the readers that he's going to make the movie bigger and better than they expected; etc, I will make your dreams come to live-action; and most of all I promise to be annoyingly smug about it.

and oh btw the characters totes come to my house and fight on my furniture and we have sleepovers and it's so cool and you're not because they're with ME.

No, seriously.

and one more thing (she said, Columbo style):

the fact they have that image--the blue spirit, surrounded by authentic not-gibberish calligraphy, bearing a red chop signature in the corner--on this page where he talks about how devoted everyone in his family is to the series and how BNF he is and how buddy buddy he is with Mike and Bryan and what an awesome original vision they had and what great artists they are...

what you did there? we saw.

oddly enough I just preordered that this morning!

Wait, if the end of the book features a forward by MNS, does that make it a backward? or an awkward? ;-)

I'll be sure to have my exacto knife out when the book arrives...

It says it's on page six, and page seven immediately after is Mike and Bryan. It's thankfully short, even if it's probably gonna pack a lot of BS into one page.

Either that, or just glue a blank piece of paper over it.

true, I said that before I saw the Blue Spirit sketch was on it. So...

Dear Mike and Bryan, could you please issue special edition bookplate stickers? There's this huge printer's error on the introduction page and it should be covered with something, you know, relevant. Thanks!
