I’m not four, Cameron,” John protested, letting himself be led out of the airport. His boyfriend smiled at him. “I know.” “I’m a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force.” “I know.” “And I’m completely bad-ass,” John muttered. “I know you are,” Cameron said with a smile. “How about some strawberry ice cream?”
My heart just breaks for the little boy hidden inside the 'bad-ass' lieutenant colonel. And I'm so grateful for Cameron's loving patience as he helps John to heal.

There's a little kid in all of us, john's is just a teeny tiny bit more hidden. =) And I really can't see Cameron as anything other than patient with john. I'm pretty sure if he wasnt patient that Daniel could take him. Lol.
Please tell me you're not leaving it there. *headdesk*
I'm really enjoying this series. Although John's characterisation is way different from the show, he still has those elements that make him Sheppard. I like the part where he deals with his men at the SGC. Strong externally, to the point that the casual observer would never suspect.
I like Cam lamenting the fact that he lives with a house full of genius's, but is resigned to the fact that he is probably always going to lose any kind of game.
John building the toy airplane from Rodney's spare parts. *grin* And then offering to let him fly it as compensation for the used parts. Then discussing how fast it goes based on calculations. Man, too much fun.
Hey, there is a part three, so it definitely isn't left there. LJ has the annoying word limit. So I hope you caught that.
There is a sequel to this in progress, I'm not sure when it will be finished as I am soooo busy right now, but I'm working on it!
John's characterization is waaaaaay different from the show, you're right. I do try and keep some parts of him though, but he is very OOC since his childhood was (I imagine) very different from what he would have gone through on the show. I put that SGC bit in precisely for that purpose--to show that although he seems meek with Cameron, with his guys he's not weak at all. He's adapted to do what he wanted to do.
Heh, if I were Cameron, i would be lamenting everyday. I mean he's smart, but definitely not up to Daniel, Rodney or John's standards. =)
And glad you like the toy airplane. I threw that in as some kind of physical manifestation of John's intelligence. And beacause, really, it sounds like something he would do. Lol.

Hehe, yay for tingling! (That sounds so dirty so I'll leave it there.)
Actually the scene where they're stuffing wedding invitations is like right out of my life. In high school there was a teacher me and my friends were close to and since it was a public school we were all to be friends with her, lol. So when she got engaged we went over to her house to help stuff invitations and we all had different jobs. Glad you liked that little addition. =)

“I know.”
“I’m… I think that’s what it is.”
“What what is?”
“This feeling inside of me; I think it‘s happiness.”
I tingled when read this, then because I've been on this journey with John and Cam, my eyes got all watery.
And the scene with John's team stuffing wedding invitations...I just...wow...such a TEAM thing for them to do. I love it!!!!
