Pancake Tuesday
Today we have had a double dose of pancakes. Christopher's grade one class had pancakes to celebrate Pancake Day aka Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras and then we had them again for dinner. Yum yum!
In the past I haven't given up an item for Lent, but because Christopher has been learning, and understanding some things about it, we decided that this year we would.
I decided to give up Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and any other form of chocolate. I reiterated to Christopher what his teacher told the class that you are supposed to give up something big and something that would be a sacrifice and then asked if he could give up Nintendo, including his DS and he agreed. We then suggested to halfabee that maybe he could also give up Nintendo for Lent as well, and he also agreed.
As a result, halfabee has been playing Zelda since 7:00 p.m. I just went down and reminded him that when the clock strikes midnight, Nintendo turns back into a pumpkin!!!
