Hi everyone, I am back, well mostly anyway. I hope everyone had a good holidays and is settling back into their regular routines.

I am doing pretty well. I have some discomfort but very little pain. My jaw area is still numb in places but for the most part, my mouth feels like it has been numbed after going to the dentist and just hasn't awoken yet.

I had very little swelling and bruising and everything is healing quite well.

I am also progressing on the eating front, I have gone from clear fluids (immediately after surgery) to soft foods. Its amazing how many soft foods there actually are that I can eat (without blending). I seem to be living off of mashed potatoes, carrots and turnip, ice cream, rice, yogurt, some chicken and bread. I have also been supplementing with some meal replacements to ensure I get all the nutrients I may be missing in my food selection.

Other than the fact that I am having some difficulty breathing on one side of my nose and the numbness, my greatest challenge has been fatigue. Even with my mom here doing most everything for me, it is only the last couple of days that I am starting to feel normal again.

Today I walked over to school to pick up Christopher and it was actually a little more draining than I thought it would be. The fresh air however was really nice and refreshing.

I am going to continue taking advantage of my mom's help until she leaves on Monday and try get back as close to normal as I can. My friend has offered to take Christopher to school in the mornings and then I just have to get him in the afternoons. I really don't want to burden her with Christopher, but after today I think that having her take him, at least for the first few days will be well worth it. After all, I don't want to set myself back when everything has been progressing well to this point.
