So I haven't updated in awhile... sorry. Been busy. My Birthday was fun - had a good group hang out with me for the whole day. And then my trip to Michigan was a total blast. Came home to do a fabulous SFGMC concert (60s theme!), which was almost sold out. We did a really great job and I think it energized a lot of people, which is awesome. And then the day after I went to Chicago for Bear Pride weekend. There were some awkward moments, and it certainly was no IBR, but overall I had a great time.
But clearly I was keeping myself busy and moving to try and escape that my relationship with James was going nowhere. We talked about it last Friday and decided to break up. Then on Monday my roommate/landlord sent me an email with my 60 day eviction notice (he had been too busy hooking up with boys over the weekend to talk to me in person). He got a new job in Walnut Creek and is selling the house, so his first act was to kick me out. I went to the SF Tenant's Union on Tuesday and they told me that I'm not a tenant, I'm a "lodger", so I basically have zero rights in the situation. Then Wednesday my car keys just disappeared from my coat pocket - I don't know if they were stolen or fell out, but I had only walked from my car to one restaurant, and I searched everywhere to no avail.
So, yeah, things have really sucked. But there's always the silver lining. James and I are still going to be friends... eventually. And I suppose moving can be a chance to find a roommate who's actually cool and friendly, although I doubt I'll find a place as nice as this one for as cheap as I got it. And I had a spare key and my car didn't get stolen, so I just need to see how much it costs to get a new replacement key made. And I made it through the week, so the hardest part is over, right?
Plus I'm going to Michigan again on Monday. This was suppose to be a big trip James and I were doing together, but we rearranged tickets (which was expensive but it's only money, right?). So... that means I get more time in MI with the family. And I have my awesome Lake Huron Beach Party from June 12-14. I'm hoping that goes really well and that I have a lot of fun, rather than be melancholic that I'm there alone. Other than that, I don't think I'm going to make it anywhere other than GP and the Beach House... but feel free to contact me if you want to meet up and I'll see what I can do.
