Favorite Quote? Why does it have significance to you?
A mature person is one who does not think only in absolutes, who is able to be objective even when deeply stirred emotionally, who has learned that there is both good and bad in all people and all things, and who walks humbly and deals charitably with the circumstances of life, knowing that in this world no one is all-knowing and therefore all of us need both love and charity.
-Eleanor Roosevelt
I love this quote because it speaks to my philosophy about life, and is just very Taoist in the sound. Eleanor Roosevelt has also been a huge influence on me.
Likes: Time to unwind, writing, reading, philosophy, odd but nice people, good food, graphic design, music
Dislikes: Insensitive people, people with no sense of the results of their actions, people who twist facts to suit their purposes, manipulation, egotism, idealism that blinds people to reality, people who set themselves up for their own demise and complain about it
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Why? I like writing, looking up various weird facts, and reading, probably because I'm an information sponge.
Who do you look up to as a model for how to live your life? Why? It's a tie between Miyamoto Musashi and the Dalai Lama, strangely, as both embody very humble principles but kept their feet firmly on the ground.
Your best quality? Why? I'd say it's my reliability, I'm always at work early or on time, do exactly what you need me to, and am generally the type of person you'd want in a fox hole with you.
Your worst? Why? Stubborn as hell. Also trouble asking for help.
The world's not a perfect place. What would you want to change about it? Why? I'd make many things more transparent, to prevent people from covering them up.
You're not perfect, either. What would you change about yourself? Why? I'd make myself more open to people, since I can have a pretty hard shell at times.
Do you believe in people? In general, I believe we're all born with potential to do good and bad, and that no person is intrinsically good or bad.
In yourself? In general, I'm pretty tough when I need to be and I believe I can do the right thing in a hard situation.
If you were given the chance to become one of the characters for a short period of time, who would you choose? Why? Hmm. That's a tough one, but strangely Misaki, because I'd want to know just what goes on in that head of hers.
Anything else? Not really. I don't care if I'm rated male or female.
