Favorite Quote? Why does it have significance to you?
"Man, know thyself." by Socrates. Simple yet profound, this quote contains the most important piece of advice for people to gain wisdom. Wisdom of course is needed in order for the world to be rid of its worst aspects...ignorance, close-mindedness, hate, stupidity... There's also one other quote that I really, really like, but is more difficult for people to grasp:
"when man becomes aware of the movement of his own thoughts, he will see the division between the thinker and the thought [...] He will discover that this division is an illusion. Then only is there pure observation, which is insight without any shadow of [...] time. This timeless insight brings about a deep radical mutation in the mind" --J. Krishnamurti. The true meaning of this quote has just began revealing itself to me within the past two years and is quite rapidly taking over my life....o.o . Let me just say, that this quote was life-changing in a way...it's very difficult to explain...

Likes:
Philosophy, the paranormal, anime and manga (Juuni Kokki, X, Kyou Kara Maou, Peacemaker Kurogane, Last Exile, Fruits Basket, Tactics, Honey and Clover, Getbackers, Prince of Tennis, Earth Girl Arjuna), fantasy, music, beautiful and elegant things, metaphors/symbolism, elves (Tolkien version), myths and legends, languages, poetry, anything else that happens to be sufficiently interesting...
Dislikes:
Ignorance, politicians, narrow-mindedness, boredom, stagnancy, rudeness, pessimism, being ignored, not having enough time, being ordered around, strong offensive odours (such as cigarette smoke and some perfumes), loud distracting noises...

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Why?
I enjoy playing piano, listening to music, drawing, reading, philosophizing, having intellectual discussions, observing the world around me (particularly human behaviour), learning new things... Not surprising really, considering what my favourite things are...

Who do you look up to as a model for how to live your life? Why?
My number one inspirational role model is Leonardo da Vinci. I really admire da Vinci for being so talented in so many different areas (I have an aspiration to become multi-talented) and I am quite fascinated with the mystery of his works. The man is a pure genius. ^__^ Also, I find his life and philosophies to be very intriguing...I love the way he thinks, hehe.

Your best quality? Why?
Hm...I think my best quality would have to be my wisdom. I instinctually seem to know many things that others usually have to learn through some type of experience (*coughs* my most commonly used phrase... "I know"). I just seem to have this "been there, done that" feeling about many things (despite the fact that I haven't actually experienced those things in this life...I just "know") and generally feel way older than I look. Because of this inherent wisdom in me, people seem to naturally gravitate towards me for advice whenever they have any problems. I have become something like a personal shrink to these people (that's what they call me....apparently, I have some kind of calming, understanding presence that draws them in) XD Well, I must say that being able to help people like this makes me feel really happy inside. ^__^
Your worst? Why?
My worst trait...that's rather difficult to answer...I know I have a lot of bad traits, but I can't exactly pinpoint which is the worst. Perhaps it's my contradictory nature, which can lead to a lot of complications. I am very hardworking when I put my mind to something, but I am also very lazy. I give off an air of modesty and humbleness in front of others but am actually rather arrogant and stubborn. Perhaps it's my indecisiveness... Well, one thing for sure is that all these things combined have caused me much trouble recently...(too complicated to explain here though...hehe...I'm still trying to sort it all out myself...I confuse myself...--___--;; )

The world's not a perfect place. What would you want to change about it? Why?
Aw...only one thing? (This world is so messed up, yet so interesting...I love it, yet hate it...--__--) I guess if I really had to choose one thing...it would be ignorance. If only people knew what was really happening in the world, we could finally get down to making some intelligent, wise decisions in actually changing the world for the better....

You're not perfect, either. What would you change about yourself? Why?
I don't think I would want to change anything about myself. I'm quite satisfied with myself as I am. (Well...actually, if I could be immortal (as in, forever youthful and powerful)...(not in this world though...ugh...))

Do you believe in people?
Depends really...I would never blindly believe someone...nor would I ever fully believe someone, because there are just so many things that can happen, humans are unpredictable you know...I just keep an open-mind for all possibilities...
In yourself?
Hah...I'm the only thing I truly believe in. Philosophical reasons...too lengthy to explain here...
If you were given the chance to become one of the characters for a short period of time, who would you choose? Why?
I guess I would choose Ritsuka...he seems to attract the most interesting people and situations... :) (although he is a bit too angsty...)

Anything else?
Um, I am quite a fast learner, particularly in the arts and languages area. I am also very good at reading the emotions and thoughts in people, and sensing the mood and atmosphere of different places. Another talent I have is manipulating others (either intentionally, or unintentionally...I tend to be rather influential whenever I come in contact with anyone...which is why I usually remain "invisible", because when I do interact with others, the result is usually not neutral...). Also, the feeling of utter loneliness always makes me feel extremely uncomfortable (sick even...>.>). I hate parasites (ew...bugs...), gore (blood I am fine with, but gore...no...), and curiously enough, I also have a fear of fragile creatures, especially butterflies. I used to freak out every time a butterfly came near (although I'm getting more used to it now after all that anime and manga...I don't know why they love to torture butterflies so much...T___T). This fear I think is not really a fear of the creatures themselves, but a fear of them breaking *shudders*. Now that I think of it...add delicate fish to that..fish and butterflies...O__O
