Christmas, upcoming trips, etc,etc

Gotta love Princess... still havent charged us for the shipboard account. Lets keep it that way.

Not really all that excited about Christmas this year, since the family is all going in seperate directions on Dec.26 to different hemispheres. There isnt even a tree this year in the house. We did all decide on limiting gift values too, so no crazy shopping :)

I am more excited about leaving this goshforsaken snowy landscape behind next Wednesday, boarding my 747 Upper Deck business class flight to Sydney, followed by my 3 hours hop on my Emirates First Class flight to Auckland.

I will be spending the first week on my own in Northland, although I may yet to visit the oldish kiwis I met in Morocco if timing works. I will be doing a Bay of Islands overnight cruise for NYE, since it comes recommended by a trusted source. A couple days in Auckland where I have the Suite at the Clarion (NZ's best 5* hotel) booked. Hope to hit the town with the Aucklanders I met over the years. 2008 will definetly be the longest year of my life at 366 days and 18 hours, accounting for the time difference, and 2007, which began in California will be the shortest year of my life at just 364 days and 3 hours.

On the 5th I head out to Tauranga, staying at Nicky's until the 10th, we are supposed to go to the Bay of Plenty and to Waitomo. Then it will be a walk down memory lane, as I head down to Christchurch for the weekend.

On the 15th, I am off to Brisbane, and on the 19th to Melbourne to visit Karl and the wife that has been keeping him captive for all these years.

On the 23rd I have a marathon flight Melbourne-Sydney-Los Angeles-Detroit-Memphis-Atlanta-Amsterdam-Istanbul. Thats 26500km.

Meeting with Kate (who I owe for the 25% discount on next summer's Intrepid tour!) for the weekend in Istanbul, a city that was at the top of my to-go-back-to list. Finally make it home on the 30th of January.

Thats 24 flights and 66500km in 5 weeks.
Considering the total cost of all this was just under $2000, and this trip will earn over 100,000 miles, which then will translate into 2 tickets to Europe, I think I am getting a good deal ;)

Yes I am crazy.
