Sometimes, they forget to be amazed.

What he does is so natural, so at ease, that they’re captivated by him. They don’t question how he does what he does. They don’t think about asking him to explain. He is a magician; they know that. And sometimes, they forget to be astonished.

But these last few days, Reid has fascinated them.

And he is, still ( Read more... )

Never a more appropriate time to use the "Your mind...It's such a treasure!" icon.

I love the sentiment in this story, how they are so used to Reid's brilliance that they forget to be moved by it. They kind of take him and his intellect for granted. I really like how you write the extremely real reactions of people - and the complicated interpersonal situations.

Bravo, again!

I agree; your icon fits perfectly. :) Speaking of which, I'm really struggling with finding user pics. Would you happen have any advice on where to find CM icons?

I have to admit, it feels like this is a rather sloppy piece of writing and I'm not very happy with it, but if it carries the sentiment through right, then, about that I'm happy. Honestly, it was all written for the sentiment, lol. Thanks so much again for your kind review.

I love fics where the team is blown away by Reid and his awesome mind. Sometimes I feel so bad that they interrupt his rambles because you have to remember that of all of the team he is the only one that doesn't have other people to connect with. They are his only real listeners and I love when I can read how amazed and grateful they are to have him.

Thanks for the comment. Sadly, the writers haven't been using Reid's or any other character's fascinating individualities for a long time. Apparently, violence and gore draws more viewers. It's sad.

I like how you tackled this topic because, yeah, after 6+ years one would think they would grow used to his intellect and his abilities. It's nice to see how they don't take him for granted. Very nicely done!

Thank you so much for the lovely review. I, too, was getting weary about how they all seem to ignore each other this season, and wanted to see some appreciation. I'm glad to hear it turned out well.

You've made me even more excited to see this week's episode but I'm positive the writing won't be as great as this. I feel like sometimes the show gets so wrapped up in the team "protecting" Reid or using his Reid-ness for comedy that they even forget to do things like this, where everybody steps in and gives him a boost.

Oh, thank you very much for the compliment. I, too, am trying not to get my hopes up about this episode, or any of the other remaining ones this season. We'll see. Thanks again.

Oh, I LOVED this. I feel like Reid hasn't gotten a lot of attention this season. And I do think people forget how unique he really is -- so this hit home. Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you very much for the review, I'm glad you liked this little piece of writing. And you're right, unique is the word for Reid. Thanks.
