How the World Ended.
There once was a little girl named Harriet. She was very sad and lonely. Sometimes she would cry unexpectedly and at very inappropriate times for no reason at all.
She did not have any friends at her school. Sometimes people threw things at her. This made her very sad.
One day she found a rat. She decided that it would be her friend, and took it home with her.
She brought it to school with her everyday, and her eccentricity brought her some noteriety, and even popularity!
She began dressing differently to gain more attention and appreciation from her peers. It worked.
Unfortunately, what she didn't know was that the rat was a carrier of the Bubonic Plague.
Soon, everyone at her school fell victim to the terrible disease.
Somehow Harriet survived.
The government blamed her, and cited her as a biological terrorist.
They sent the army after her!
But, the government is very stupid, and sent nuclear weapons in a show of strength.
This resulted in a nuclear winter. Everyone was dead.
Except, of course, the rat.
