I walk up the stairwell two steps at a time, headed for my car on the fourth level of the Church Street parking structure. On the third level, a poor bird is flapping its wings trying to escape from the stairwell. For a while it just looks around bewildered. As I approach, it takes off beak-first into the window -- thud. Undaunted, it tries again and again. I figure there's nothing I can do, so I pull my point-and-shoot out of my backpack and snap a few shots.
