the goal post (ha ha ha)
while i was getting paid $10.95 an hour for folding shirts today i was thinking about my goals. they always said in school that you have to make sure that you have goals. and not just ones for today or this week, but for years and decades. they asked us to fill out sheets and think about where we would be in 20 years. i saw a girl who i haven't seen since 8th grade graduation today. she hugged me good bye and cried that day but she did not even recognize me today. she looked exactly a like. i would like to believe i don't.
so here is what i am currently aspiring towards, may 30, 2005:
tonight: go to bed soon. read in the middle of my room out loud.
tomorrow: clean basement.
this week: upadate my paper journal.
this month: work into a chaotic routine. earn money. pay off car insurance.
this summer: go camping. get 'nancy sinatra hair' a la 'boots.' buy a nice new guitar. make some recordings. play some shows.
this year: work on BFA. establish myself. get a nice turntable/computer set to put records on cds.
over the next 3 years: get BFA.
after college: study english somewhere not around here in order to 'distance myself.'
after that: get a one white story cape with working red shutters, either up north (not too far) or in the ipswitch/costal mass area. close the working red shutters when it storms. summer in the remote regions of maine. have a small coffee shop/clothing store/antique store/record store that has 'club nights' like 'swing night,' 'hip night,' '80's night,' 'folk night,' and most important '60's night,' dress impecably for all; have 'regulars;' sell my clothes; serve pbr; also free movie nights that show 'harold and maude' and 'the graduate' and other such movies that are woth it.
i think that is as far as i go for now.
i am giving myself until 30 to make something of myself, after that...sorry.
