Interesting Contrast

Yes, I'm watching Youtube dance videos instead of getting ready to go to work. This is a really interesting one because you have a short segment at the beginning of Lindy with Ryan and Jenny, and then the ballroom Jivers come out, and I think it really sets up a perhaps-unintentional contrast. I realize that at this point they're just different dances, but it's interesting to see how (both dancewise and culturwise) the original dance and one of its ballroom-standardized offshoots have diverged.
