Last night, my friend Katrina and I got all drunk for the cinema studies party. The night itself was strange, and I have very little to actually report without launching into an epic rambly tale, and my fingers are too lazy to type any of it. Plus, no one cares about my drunken surreal evening, I am sure. HOWEVER when I came to Bryan's [a/n: Bryan = my boyfriend, he lives in an apartment in a basement that you have to walk through a little alley to get to] I saw an animal running down the very alley I needed to access! The alley is pretty thin, and I don't want to back a larger animal into a corner, especially as I am pretty hammered at this point. I initially followed a little, walking down a little ways, thinking it was a raccoon, as it was approximately the right size & with the right sort of movement [a/n: raccoons are everywhere in Toronto]. Buuuuut when it ran into the part that lights up when motion is detected, it stopped, and I got a good look at it, and it took a good look at me. It was an opossum! I knew that they were slowly spreading their territory northwards, but I have never seen one in Toronto, or one in the wild at all. In any case, I was drunk and not sure whether or not they were aggressive, so I made Bryan get up and let me in the weird front door that functions mainly as a fire exit, and I do not have a key to.
This story seemed alot more exciting when it was only in existence in the realm of memory and experience. I wonder how oppossums and raccoons get along.
