Well, I am coming to the final week of the semester. I have a lot left to do, but I feel pretty good about it. For most of the semester I felt a little out of touch, like I wasn't engaging with the material as much as I wanted or needed to. I think this is just worry about the prelims. and the dissertation that are ahead of me.
My presentation in Foucault last week really helped me gain some confidence. I mixed history and literature with Foucault's social theory and what came out worked well and was interesting.
So, this weekend I have to:
- Finish Foucault paper (Foucault and Hawthorne)
- Finish Anthony paper (Brockden Brown's Edgar Huntly and violence)
- Write Batinski paper (A historiographic essay on Puritan Law)
- Write Batinski Final (A small paper on Franklin's ideal America and how John Woolman shows us the real way)
Really, not as bad as it sounds, since the first two just need finishing touches and some revision.
