Recipe: New Apple and Ginger Cocktail Concoction
I bought some swanky new martini glasses at a store called Platypus this weekend and just HAD to use them. Yesterday, I made pomegranate cosmos, but today I wanted to use up some fresh ginger and some apple cider, so I came up with the following.
Nameless Cocktail #1
3 parts brandy or cognac
1 part Cointreau
1/2 part lemon juice
grated fresh ginger
3 parts apple cider
Throw ingredients into a cocktail shaker with some ice, shake and strain into swank martini glass. Repeat as needed.
This freaking kicks ass. Sis and I blew through two batches tonight. I'm going to make them for my friend's 40th bday celebracion next weekend, and will sugar the rims of the glasses with some crystallized ginger sugar (will throw crystallized ginger and sugar into a food processor and whiz). Hurray!
